Case-4: Homeopathy helps in a case of benign breast tumor
Mrs P. J. (Patient Identification Number 24821), a 43-year-old lady, reported to Life Force on 13th February 2015. She had come for the complaints of fibroadenoma. In the year 2003 she had breast abscess in the left upper outer quadrant. Incision and drainage was done. Two small cysts were detected which were surgically removed in September 2003.
The Cytopathology revealed the cysts to be benign. Since the last one week, the patient again detected one new small cyst, in the upper outer quadrant of the left breast, which was about 1 cm in diameter and was mobile. Mammography showed calcification of the cyst. There was no redness.
She experienced occasional pricking pain (once in 24 hours). The patient also took conventional medicines due to which the cyst decreased in size. Since yesterday, the patient once again detected one new small mobile cyst, about 1 cm diameter in the right breast in the upper medial quadrant near the areola. There was no redness but occasional pricking pain (once in 24 hours).
She had craving for sour and sweets. She had a strong aversion to spicy food. She perspired profusely and her perspiration left yellow stains on the clothes. She was very sensitive to hot weather and could not take the hot climate at all.
She was a middle aged lady; averagely built with a wheat complexion.
Family set up:
She is a school teacher. Her husband is a purchase manager in a wholesale shop. She has a son who is in the 8th and her daughter is graduating in science.
Emotional sphere:
Anxious and irritable lady. She is very anxious regarding her family. Her life during her youth was very stressful. She had suffered from malaria and typhoid a few years back .
Family history:
Her father had suffered from hypertension, diabetes mellitus and renal calculus. Her mother had tuberculosis in the past.
On examination it was revealed that she had bilateral lobed, large and mildly tender fibroadenoma's in both her breasts. Dr Shah examined her and studied her case in detail and prescribed Thuja 30c, alongwith his research based mediciens.
Follow up:
After the administration of these medicines the size of the fibroadenomas was stabilized and their further growth was halted. However there was a mild pain in the right breast. The patient reported for follow up on 26rd March 2015. A mammography was repeated which showed that the lump size had reduced by 0.1 cm. The cyst had decreased by a negligible size in the left upper outer quadrant of the breast. The cyst in the right upper medial quadrant, near the areola had also reduced by a negligible size Patient was unable to feel it. The cyst had become asymptomatic with no pain. Dr. Shah upgraded the prescription with Calcarea flourica 200. The patient again reported for her follow up on 8th May 2015 with considerable improvement in the size of the cyst. The cyst decreased to negligible size in the left upper outer quadrant of the breast. She complained of occasional pulling breast pain before menses. The cyst in the right upper medial quadrant near the areola reduced to negligible size.
The prescription was continued as per the earlier follow up.
One more example proving the efficacy of homeopathy for benign breast tumors. Homeopathy must be thought of before undergoing surgery for fibroadenoma. The patient must point out homeopathy option to the surgeon who might be un-aware about homeopathy alternative to surgery in many cases.
