Case-2: Remarkable improvement seen in muscle weakness in patient with muscle dystrophy
Mr. A. M. P. (Patient Identification Number - 20055) visited Life Force on 11th October 2012. He was 64 years old retired businessman, having a manufacturing unit. He had complaints of Dysarthria (a condition in which you have difficulty controlling or coordinating the muscles you use when you speak, or weakness of those muscles.) since 3 – 4 years. His speech would be slurred making it difficult for others to understand. Along with it, he had generalized weakness since 6 months. He did not have strength for doing his daily activities, like walking, sitting , working etc.
He would often vomit after eating non vegetarian or spicy food. He had been a chronic alcoholic since 30 years. He would occasionally feel unsteady gait. His complaints would increase by sitting for a long time or in the morning.
He had suffered from a stroke in 2003 and 2007. He had angioplasty in 2010. He had stopped all his medications for blood pressure and heart disease on his own without consulting the doctor since 6 months.
His appetite was average. He liked chicken and spicy food. He had stopped smoking 6 months ago. His thirst was decreased. He was sensitive to warm weather, though he perspired less. His sleep was sound.
He had a manufacturing unit as business. He had retired from work lately. His wife was also helping him in the business. He had a 35 years old son who had been in the process of separating from his wife. He had a daughter who stayed in a different city.
He was jolly, fun loving and active person. He liked traveling to different places. He was stressed out due to the legal process of the ongoing divorce between his son and daughter in law. He felt lonely and did not get along well with his son. His wife stayed in Pune. He would keep shuttling between Pune and Mumbai, attending to both of them. He had become irritable lately and would weep when angry.
His father had asthma and mother had high blood pressure. His case details were studied by Dr. Shah and prescribed few research based medicines. His daughter reported on 18th December with mild improvement in slurred speech and weakness.
After 4 months of treatment, his daughter reported of further improvement in the generalized weakness, the slurred speech also showed some improvement. The other people could now understand his speech to an extent.
His daughter reported on 26th April with overall 40% improvement in his generalized weakness. He visited on 13th November and reported of significant improvement in his weakness, it had improved by 75%. He had stopped smoking and drinking. He could now go to gymnasium for exercising. Overall his health had improved significantly. The vomiting and nausea had also improved. The speech was better , his family members could understand what he spoke.
He is continuing with the medicines for further recovery and improvement. The generalized muscle weakness had shown remarkable improvement and he had again become his own self, energetic and independent.
