17 year old with chronic eczema eruption, aggravation only in winter
A seventeen year old Miss R.S (Patient Ref No: L-6157) had presented with complaints of reddish eruptions with itching, dryness, cracks and scaling of the lesions since 8 years. It was diagnosed as eczema. Her eruptions would particularly appear between September to December. Her eczema used to get worse particularly at night, by change of season, dust and in winter.
Along with her skin complaints, she also suffered from dandruff since 8 years, all though there was no hairfall.
She had irregular menses (every 2-3 months). She also had leucorrhoea since 4 years, which was watery, yellowish, sticky and lumpy. Her complaints of leucorrhoea had decreased after menses. She had suffered from constipation since 10-12 years. She was a known case of migraine with pain particularly in the forehead region. Her migraine attacks used to last for about 1-2 hrs.
She had an average appetite. She was particularly fond of spicy food and chocolates. There was aversion to sweets. She had profuse perspiration on her face.
She used to reside with her family (parents and sister). She loved to be with friends, as she preferred company. She would not get angry easily nor did she weep easily. Occasionally, she used to feel anxious about her father’s business. She had no other stress in life.
She had suffered from tonsillitis 3 years back. Her father had a history of Pleurisy and Vertigo. Her mother had suffered from migraine and extremely dry skin. Apart from this, there was no other major illness in the family.
After a detailed case history, she was prescribed a constitutional homeopathic treatment. After three months of homeopathic medication, the eczema on the palms and soles was remarkably reduced. There was a marked improvement in her complaints of scaling, itching and dryness. She was considerably relieved of her of constipation. The frequency of her migraine attacks reduced (one attack in a month) as well. She was advised to continue homeopathic treatment for complete alleviation.
