Vitiligo on face due to cosmetic treatments spreading to her back, thighs and abdomen
This is the case of Mrs. C J (L-7857) aged 47, who reported to the clinic with depigmented patches on the face due to some cosmetic application at a beauty parlor for hyperpigmentation of the face. Gradually the spots of vitiligo developed on her back, thighs, and abdomen. She was suffering from vitiligo since two and a half years. She was being treated at another homeopathic clinic. However, since her spots were static and as they didn’t show much improvement she came to Life Force Centre for phototherapy treatment.
Along with Vitiligo, she was also suffering from hypothyroidism for 4 years and was on regular treatment.
Associated with her skin complaints, she used to complain about pain in the knees and had been diagnosed as osteoarthritis of both the knees for 8-10 years. She was hypertensive for 4 years and was on medication for the same.
She was extremely stressed since 7-8 months regarding her family events. She had profound sadness due to her husband’s behavior. She was quite calm otherwise. She was social and always preferred to be with people. She was extremely worried about her younger daughter who was schizophrenic. She had a weeping disposition.
She had suffered from Typhoid at the age of 17. Her mother suffered from Ischemic Heart Disease. She had been taking steroids and homeopathic treatment for vitiligo from another clinic.
Based on her above history she was given phototherapy treatment. After her responsiveness to phototherapy, she was treated with individualized homeopathic treatment. After a few sittings of phototherapy, in a month’s time, the vitiligo spots on her back, abdomen, and thigh were re-pigmented by about 50%. After about 8 months of phototherapy, her vitiligo spots faded to a large extent and her osteoarthritis got better by 90%. No new spots were noticed during this period. Her knee pain was better to a large extent. Mentally she started feeling much more relaxed.
After one year of constitutional homeopathic treatment, there has been a significant improvement on her face, back, abdomen and thighs. She is still advised to continue treatment for a better prognosis in terms of repigmentation on other parts as well. There was an overall improvement in her vitiligo patches after phototherapy treatment.
This is the best example to show that phototherapy along with constitutional homeopathic medicines works best in chronic stages of vitiligo.
