There were no signs of inflammation. No pain, no burning, no discomfort, the whitish streaks had resolved....

A forty years old lady Mrs. K.M ( Patient Identification Number 11655) visited Life Force on 8th January 2009 for the complaint of oral Lichen Planus. She was suffering from Lichen Planus since the last four to five months, affecting tongue and both buccal mucosa. She would get severe burning pain in the mouth while eating spicy food. She could not eat anything spicy.

She was on allopathic treatment for her LP. She would apply Tacroz (local immunosuppressant) cream locally but it was not giving major relief.

    oral lichen planus

She was having a family history of autoimmune diseases like Diabetes Mellitus and Cancer.

Her appetite was normal. She was not very fond of sweets and would like spicy food more. Thirst, perspiration and bowel movements were normal. She was a chilly patient with marked aggravation from cold weather. Sleep was sound with no specific dreams.

Mrs. K.M was a housewife. She was sensitive by nature. She was very much anxious about her children. Small things would make her anxious. She had become irritable because of her disease.

Dr. Rajesh Shah studied her case in detail and prescribed her research bases homeopathic medicines. In the initial two months of the treatment, burning pain was reduced by almost 50%. She could eat some spicy food without much discomfort. The lesions on examination were the same. However, she could stop using Tacroz ointment.

In next two to three months of the treatment, her lesions reduced completely. There was no burning pain. By 21st June 2009 she was completely cured of her oral LP. She was symptom free and an examination confirmed complete resolution of the lichen planus lesions. The mucosa had healed leaving a blackish mark. There were no signs of inflammation. No pain, no burning, no discomfort, the whitish streaks had resolved. She was able to stop Tacroz. (Once the immune system is corrected, why would one require drugs which interfere with the immunity?)

How does Homeopathy work? It stimulates the self healing potential of the body in the direction of cure and the body cures itself. With all its intricacies, homeopathy has an inherent advantage over immune suppressants.
