Recently Diagnosed And Steroid-Masked Lichen Planus Healed With Homeopathy

A 39-year-old female patient, Mrs. H.G. (PIN: 41792) visited Life Force and its homeopathic treatment in November 2019 for her complaint of oral Lichen planus.

She was suffering from the condition for a month. The lesions of lichen planus were present on her hands, legs, and back. She was suffering from very severe and intense itching in the lesions. Hyperpigmented marks were observed on her skin. She was using steroids creams for the past few days, and she was feeling better with it.

The patient’s appetite was average. She was having a specific craving for salty food. Her thirst for water was average. The patient had no issues related to the urine and stool. Her sleep was sound and refreshing.

She was a housewife and staying with her husband and 2 sons. The patient had stress related to her mother as she was not keeping well. By nature, she was reserved and introvert.

She had no other major ailments in the past. Her mother was suffering from cancer and diabetes mellitus.

After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed some research-based homeopathic medicines along with some dietary tips to the patient. She was also informed to gradually reduce the use of steroids ointment and not to stop it suddenly as it can increase the disease symptoms.

    Follow-Ups:

On 17th December 2019, the patient updated that she was having a mixed response with the medicines. The old lesions were drying, but, at the same time, a few new lesions were noticed as she was reducing the use of steroids. The itching on her skin was less than before. She had experienced an overall mild improvement with the homeopathic medicines.

On 11th February 2020, the patient reported that she was further improving with the medicines. The itching had reduced significantly. The spread of the disease had stopped, and her lesions were drying. She had stopped using steroid ointments, and she was only on homeopathic medicines now.

On 15th December 2020, the patient reported that she was further better with the medicines, but, from the past few days, she had noticed new lesions on her hands. The itching was very minimal. On further evaluation, it was found that the patient had experienced stress related to family and, after that, the lesions had increased. Based on this feedback, Dr. Shah prescribed further medicines to the patient.

On 23rd June 2021, the patient updated that she was almost 70%-80% better in her recovery from the complaints. She was no more experiencing itching on the skin. There was no spread of the disease. The active lesions had subsided. Just hyperpigmented marks were observed on the skin, and they were also getting lighter day by day. She had experienced an overall great recovery from lichen planus with homeopathic medicines. Her dependency on steroid creams was eliminated.

The patient thanked Dr. Shah and the whole Life Force team for treating her and improving her health. She is still under our treatment to achieve complete recovery from her disease.

    Conclusion:

This case highlights that homeopathy is highly effective in treating steroid-masked lichen planus successfully and safely without any side effects. Homeopathy not only heals the lichen planus patient naturally and gently but also helps eliminate the dependency on steroids.
