Rapidly spreading Lichen Planus was treated successfully within a year’s treatment.

Mr. J. D. visited our Borivali clinic on 23rd March 2012 for his skin complaints. He was a 37 years old, C.A. professional. He had been diagnosed with Lichen Planus since 1.5 months. It had rapidly spread on his entire body. He had itching, scaling and dryness. The skin was thickened on the spots. There were pustules on the back and the thighs. He also had swelling over the feet and soles. He had taken conventional medicines for 20 days in the past. He was stressed in his professional area.

He had been diagnosed with high blood pressure 3 – 4 years ago and was taking allopathic medicines.

There was no specific liking or disliking in food. He was tolerant to both warm and cold temperature. His thirst and perspiration were normal. His sleep was sound and refreshing.

He was a CA working in a private firm since last 8 years. His wife was a home maker. He had a daughter who was studying. He was staying in a joint family with parents.

He was short tempered and workaholic. He was sensitive towards his family. If his work was not done as per his conditions he would shout on the employees. He enjoyed being in a company. He liked appreciation in his work. He was manipulative and image conscious.

On 7th April he came with the biopsy reports which confirmed Lichen Planus.

He later visited on 24th April with considerable improvement in his Lichen Planus. The scaling, burning, pain and itching were significantly reduced. The cracks on the spots had healed. The hyper pigmentation did not find any change. There were few new spots of hyper-pigmentation on ear and hands, but the old existing spots were same.

He visited on 15th June with around 30% improvement in his Lichen Planus. The pain in the spots was felt only in the legs and soles. The itching, scaling, cracks and burning was almost nil. The rate of spread had decreased significantly. He would get few new spots which would subside within a few days. His case was reviewed by Dr. Shah and medicines were prescribed.

On 26th July he reported with further improvement in his Lichen Planus. The spread had stopped. The old spots were showing signs of healing. The hyper pigmented spots on hands and upper body were lightening. The spots on the lower body were stable. The itching would occasionally occur at night. His prescription was upgraded by Dr. Shah.
