Dr Shah has pioneered homeopathic treatment in lichen nitidus.
A 46 years old lady, Mrs. R.M, [PIN 8312], came for the treatment of Lichen Nitidus.
She was suffering from Lichen Nitidus since the last 2 years. She had many tiny maculo-papular eruptions, which were mildly elevated. She had several diffuse patches on her legs and arms.
The patches were dry and itchy. There was mild hyper-pigmentation. The skin surface was uneven. The itching would increase in winter and in periods of stress. The spots were spreading to her abdomen and back.
She was applying moisturizers and mild cortisone cream.
Since the spread was not under control, her dermatologist had suggested her to try alternative medicines. She had already been treated for psoriasis in the past at Life Force.
She visited the center on 2 February 2011.
Her case was reviewed.
She was a PhD in Physics. She was a professor in a college in Mumbai. Her husband had his own chemical factory. Her son was studying engineering and her younger son was in the college.
She had a craving for sweets. Milk and sour food did not suit her.
She could not tolerate heat, she likes the winter season.
She described herself as anxious, worrisome, reserved and short-tempered. She had mood swings before menses. She was a perfectionist and fastidious lady. She liked things in proper place and in proper order. She would brood about past unpleasant events in her life.
Dr Shah examined her and based on the disease pathology and the symptoms, he prescribed Thuja Occidentalis 200c and Carcinosin 200c. She later required Thuja Occidentalis 1M. She reported to the center on 15 March 2011. There was no major relief. Dr Shah enhanced the dose.
She reported again on 27 may 2011. There was mild change. The itching had reduced, the dryness had reduced. There was flattening seen in few lesions. There was no further spread in the disease. The lesions looked subdued. She visited again on June 12 2011. She was further better.
By December 2011, the lesions flattened to a good extent.
She is still under our care.
Lichen Nitidus is a rare and difficult condition. Dr Shah has pioneered its homeopathic treatment and we have noted good success in several cases. Lichen Nitidus
