Antibiotic And Steroid Dependent Lichen Planus Patient Found 90% Recovery With Homeopathy

A 48-year-old male patient, Mr. A.K. (PIN: 41650) visited Life Force and started homeopathic treatment for his complaint of her lichen planus in November 2019.

He was suffering from a skin condition for 6 months. The lesions of lichen planus were present on his hands, legs, and shoulder. He was experiencing a quite intense itching in the lesions. Hyperpigmented marks were observed on his skin. He was using oral and local applications of steroids & consuming antibiotics for the past 6 months. Whenever he tried to reduce the dose of steroids, he noticed new lesions on the skin. The patient was very anxious about his illness.

    Physical Generals:

The patient’s appetite was average. He had cravings for sour and salty food. His thirst for water was average. His sleep was refreshing.

    Psychological and Family Make-Up:

The patient was a chief engineer. He was staying with his wife and daughter. He had a supportive family. By nature, he was very mild and sensitive. He had no stress as such in his life.

    Self and Family’s Medical History:

He had no medical history of any other major illness. Also, no history of any major illness was present in his family. The only thing bothering him was lactose intolerance.

    At Life Force:

After studying the case in detail, Dr. Shah prescribed some research-based homeopathic medicines along with some dietary tips to the patient. The patient was also informed about tapering the dose of steroids and not stopping it all of a sudden as it can aggravate lichen planus discomfort.

    Follow-Ups:

At the first follow-up on 31st July 2019, the patient reported that there was a mild improvement with the homeopathic medicines. His itching had reduced than before. A few new lesions were present on the thighs as he had reduced the dose of steroids gradually, but, overall, he was stable with the medicines. He was also advised to have certain vitamin supplements along with the medicines.

On 4th December 2019, the patient reported that he was further better with the medicines. He had experienced a good relief in the complaints and mentioned that he was almost 50% better now. The itching was very minimal. No new lesions had developed. The hyper-pigmentation marks were still present, but the healing of active lesions was better. He had stopped taking allopathic medicines for a month and he was only on homeopathy. The patient was very happy with the progress.

On 13th March 2020, the patient had experienced more improvement with the medicines. The itching was very negligible now. The spread of the disease was completely under control. He was overall stable with the medicines. By this time, the patient mentioned he was 80% better with the homeopathic medicines, and he was no more using allopathic medicines.

On 17th April 2020, the patient updated that he was almost 90% to 95% better in his relief in the complaints. He no more experienced itching on the skin. There was no spread of the disease. The active lesions had subsided, and only hyperpigmented marks were remaining on the skin. Also, they were getting lighter day by day. He experienced a great recovery from lichen planus with homeopathic medicines.

The patient thanked Dr. Shah and the whole Life Force team for treating him and eliminating his dependency on steroids. He is still under treatment to get completely recovered from his disease condition.

    Conclusion:

This case illustrates that homeopathy is highly effective in treating lichen planus incredibly and safely without any adverse effects.
