Slow and steady improvement in young teenager with consistent and continued medication.
11 years old, extrovert and naughty Master C. D. N. visited our clinic on 24th September, 2011. His patient identification number is 17065. He had Vitiligo since 2.5 years and it was spreading. The affected areas were ankles, palms, feet, thighs, genitals and elbows. The spots were bilaterally symmetrical. His paternal grandmother had Vitiligo. He had taken allopathic medicines for 6 months in the initial period. Now since 2 years was taking homeopathy, but could not find any relief. His thyroid levels were checked 3 days ago and were slightly on the higher side.
His appetite was average. He craved sweets, paneer and chicken. His thirst was less and sweating profuse and offensive. He was intolerant to warm weather. His digestion, sleep was normal. He was a student of 6th grade. His elder brother was in 12th grade. His mother was a home maker and father was a chartered accountant in a corporate company.
He was dominating and confident child, but lately due to these white spots had become conscious and anxious. He was sensitive and would weep when reprimanded. He would have normal fights with elder brother and would try to compete with him. He had allergic bronchitis in childhood which was treated with steroid inhalers. He also suffered from urticaria which was treated with ayurvedic medicines.
His mother was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis. His maternal grandmother had asthma and grandfather had high blood pressure. His case was studied in detail and prescribed Calcarea Carbonica 30c along with few research based medicines by Dr. Shah. After 1.5 months he reported on 4th November with mild improvement in the spots. The sizes of the spots were decreasing. The spots appeared dull.
After 3 months he reported on 4th January with further improvement in Vitiligo. There were few new spots noticeable on the abdomen. His thyroid was within normal limits, when rechecked. He reported on 16th February with improvement in his old spots but there were new spots on the elbow and knees. There was spread in the disease. He was having frequent cold since past 2 months. There was nose block, throat pain and thick discharges. His case was reviewed and medicines were upgraded by Dr. Shah.
He reported on 25th May with overall 30% improvement in his Vitiligo. The size of the spots had reduced by 5% and brightness was reduced by 30%. There were no new spots or spread. His frequent cold was also less. He reported on 20th September with no further improvement in his Vitiligo. The spots were stable. There spread was stopped. His case was reviewed and medicines were upgraded by Dr. Shah. He reported on 11th January with overall 40% improvement in Vitiligo. There was further repigmentation in the spots on the elbows, knees and ankle. There was one mild spot in right arm pit. The frequent cold was recovered completely.
He reported on 12th June with overall 60% improvement in all the spots. The knee spot had repigmented further. The spots an the ankle and elbows were also better. He is still continuing with the medicines to achieve complete recovery.
