13 years old young girl, Miss I. F. K., visited our clinic on 17th October 2011 accompanied by her parents. Her Patient Identification Number is 17282. She had few sporadic spots of Vitiligo on the left knee joint, right foot and left wrist since 2009. She had a spot on the right ankle, which was treated surgically by skin grafting. This had started to spread rapidly since 4 months. She had been applying steroid based cream since 6 months on these spots, but they were not helping. She had been prescribed multivitamins in the past.
Her appetite was average. She liked chicken and disliked milk and vegetables. Her thirst was less. She would sweat normally. She was sensitive to warm weather. Her bowels were satisfactory. She had bed wetting at night since 7 years. She had not attained puberty yet.
She was studying in the 9th grade of a girl’s school. Her family consisted of parents and 2 younger siblings. Her father was a lecturer in a college. Her mother was a home maker. Her sister was also in the same school, while her younger brother was 9 years old studying in a different school.
She was mild, gentle and friendly. She was good in studies. She would express her anger on family members only. She had very normal relations with her siblings, they would fight and play with each other lovingly.
Her maternal grandfather was suffering from heart disease, while grandmother had diabetes. Her maternal aunt was suffering from tuberculosis.
Her case was studied in detail by Dr. Shah and she was prescribed Pulsatilla Nigricans 30c along with few research based medicines.
After 4 months of medication she reported on 23rd February with significant repigmentation in her spots. The right foot and left knee spot had repigmented by 30% and the left wrist spot had repigmented by 60%. She had noticed a dull hypopigmented spot on her forehead since the past few weeks. When checked under the woods lamp it did not indicate vitiligo. Her bed wetting was also finding improvement. Her prescription was upgraded after the case review by Dr. Shah.
After 7 months of medication she reported on 6th June with further improvement in her Vitiligo. There was a new spot appearing on her neck which had also improved in last few weeks. The other spots on left knee, right foot and left wrist had become stable. Her bed wetting had also reduced in frequency.
After 1 year’s medication she reported on 1st October, 2012. There were 2 – 3 new spots appearing on the chin and neck area. The old spots were further improving.
