Old lady with psoriasis had very deep cracks on soles and heels with dryness of the skin. She had taken Wysolone (steroid) for a month 8 months back and was using Betnesol.

Mrs. S. D. (Patient Ref. No. L-6409) aged 57 yrs, reported to the clinic on 12 th January 2005 with psoriasis on the soles of her feet since past 7 years. She had very deep cracks on soles and heels with dryness of the skin. It used to itch tremendously day and night, so much so that her sleep was disturbed due to it. She had taken Wysolone (steroid) for a month 8 months back and was using Betnesol locally and Homoeopathy treatment since 2 years. She used to get burning in soles with swelling in both the feet.

Associated with the skin complaints she also had hypertension since past 3 years and was on anti-hypertensives. She also had constipation since past 10 years with unsatisfactory stools, had to strain to pass stools. She was taking laxatives for it.

Coming to her personal details she had marked craving for sweets and non-vegetarian food. She even used to prefer to eat oily food as well. She had generalized perspiration with adequate thirst. She had reached menopause 10 years back.

She was short tempered, dominating and irritable by nature. She had lot of brooding and anxiety regarding past events. She was much anxious about her children's marriage. She had family related stress in past, had joint family, and was tortured by her in-laws. On enquiring about her personality details, she revealed that she was very irritable by nature. She used to get irritated on smallest matters.

Her mother suffered from cancer of uterus.

On the basis of this history, we had prescribed her homoeopathic medicines Carcinosin 200, Lycopodium 200, Graphites 200 along with other homoeopathic medicines, which has helped her beautifully. Within a month the patient started noticing improvement in cracks and itching of psoriasis eruptions. By 6 months she was 50% relieved of cracks and her itching was 80% better. By the end of a year, the improvement was 90% as can be seen in the above pictures. Her cracks have healed. Burning in soles and swelling in the feet have also reduced by 80%. And constipation is also better.
