Case-3: Homeopathy works wonderfully in c of Restless Leg Syndrome
This is a case of Miss S. D. (Patient Identification Number: 23439), a young girl aged twenty-four years who reported to the clinic on 26th August 2014 with complaints of uncontrolled restlessness and pain in the legs. She suffered from sleeplessness and irritation due to the restlessness and pain. She also complained of irregular and delayed menses which was later diagnosed as polycystic ovarian syndrome by Dr. Shah.
Personal details:
She had craving for sweets, chicken and would take alcohol occasionally. She was very sensitive to hot weather. Her menses were irregular and she suffered from dysmenorrhea. Her sleep was disturbed due to pain in her legs.
Constitution:
She was an averagely built, fair, beautiful girl.
Family set up: She was pursuing her career in interior designing and lived in a joint family. Her father, grandfather and uncle run their family business, mother is a housewife and brother studied in the second year of Business management studies.
She was a happy go lucky person. She was a hard working girl who worked and studies together. There was no significant stress in her life. She suffered from mood swings and is very moody. She was well organized in her work, studied and managed them well.
Past history:
She suffered from measles in her childhood.
Prescription
Based on this totality she was prescribed the homeopathic medicines namely Phosphorus 30, Zincum Metallicum 30 and a Dr. Shah’s research based medicine.
Follow up details:
She reported for her follow-up on 6th January 2015. After the administration of these medicines she mentioned that the restlessness in her legs was fine and had not experienced any pain in her legs in few months after starting treatment at Life Force.
Her second follow up was a miraculous one in regards to her restless leg syndrome as well as PCOS. She reported through mail that her periods were regularized and she experienced no discomfort which she earlier used to have, the restlessness and pain in her legs was completely better. She patient was very happy with the overall improvement which had occurred so earlier than she had expected.
She continued the treatment for about one year, after which her complaints have all disappeared. There has been no recurrence of restlessness in her legs which she had before starting the treatment. Her menses too were regularized without any discomfort.
Conclusion
Homeopathy worked wonderfully in this case of restless leg syndrome. This neurological disorder is rarely found in young females (usually occurs between 40- 45 years of age) but the patient responded really well to the medicines prescribed by Dr. Shah. Though we have few cases of restless leg syndrome, we have explored new possibilities of achieving commendable results in this rare disorder.
