8 Years old girl with vitiligo white spot on right thigh & hypo-pigmentation near left eyebrow treated by Dr Shah
She was having a single white spot on her right thigh. It was approximately 5cm in diameter. There was mild hypopigmentation near the left eyebrow. (Patient Identification Number - 14841)
The parents were anxious and tensed as her paternal grandmother was extensively affected by Vitiligo.
She had been taking homeopathic medicines from a local doctor, but could not find any improvement.
Her appetite was decreased and she would take an hour to eat food. She liked sour and selected food. She did not perspire much. She was sensitive to cold weather. The bowels were constipated.
She was staying in a nuclear family with her parents and elder sister. Her father was working in a thermal power station. Her mother was a homemaker.
She was a short-tempered and pampered child. In anger, she would hit her sister or mother. She was bright and obedient in studies.
Her case was studied in detail by Dr. Shah and she was prescribed Carcinosin 30c along with some research-based medicines.
After 6 months of medication (12/3/11) – she reported with mild improvement in the spot. There was no spread. The spot had become dull. Her prescription was upgraded and Silicea 30c was given along with the research-based medicines.
After 12 months of medication (20/9/11) – she reported with 50% recovery of the spot. The spot had become further dull and repigmentation had started from the sides.
After 18 months of medication (3/4/12) – she reported further improvement in her spot. The improvement was slow but steady. The disease was controlled as no new spot appeared since the start of the treatment.
After 2 years of medication (12/10/12) – she reported complete repigmentation of the spot. There was complete normal skin color over the spot.
The parents were happy and relieved to see their daughter cured of this illness.
They thanked Dr Shah for the treatment. Though vitiligo is a harmless disease, it's social ramifications are still significant. An early recovery puts an end to all these.
