This is a case study of a fourteen years old boy suffering from Vitiligo. Mr M.A.B (Patient Identification Number 8330) from Mumbai, visited Life Force on 11th March 2006 with his mother for the treatment of Vitiligo.
He was suffering from Vitiligo for almost a year. He was having moderate-sized spots on the legs, ankles, back, right wrist and lips. He was having Vitiligo affecting genitals as well. The dermatologist had prescribed him Tenovate (clobetasol, steroid) and Tacroz (Tacrolimus, local immunosuppressant) creams. These creams he had used for six months. There was no significant improvement in his Vitiligo with these creams. After he stopped using those creams, his Vitiligo started spreading rapidly. He had a strong family history of autoimmune diseases and Vitiligo. His mother, paternal grandmother, and paternal uncle were suffering from Vitiligo. His paternal grandmother and aunt were suffering from Hypothyroidism.
He had associated complaints of constipation from which he was suffering since childhood. The stools were hard which would require great straining. Constipation would get worse after eating rice or meat. He was not on any medication for constipation. His appetite was average. He was fond of salty food; he would always add extra salt in his food. He would get profuse generalized sweating mainly on the face. He was more tolerant cold as compared to warm weather. His sleep was sound. Mast M.A.B was in grade nine and he was staying in a joint family with uncles and grandparents. He was obstinate and dominating in nature. He was possessive about his own things, would not share his things with others. M.A.B would take responsibilities beyond his limits and would do it confidently. He was a black belt in martial arts. He was social and would like to mix easily with others. Because of the Vitiligo, he had developed an inferiority complex and he had started avoiding people. His case history was studied by Dr. Rajesh Shah in detail and research-based homeopathic medicines were prescribed. He followed up on 7th April 2006. There was no improvement in his Vitiligo. He had developed some new spots of Vitiligo on the legs. The pace of the disease was reduced. Constipation was better by 30-40%. His feedback was studied and medicines were upgraded. His further follow up was on 2nd June 2006. There were no new spots of Vitiligo in six weeks. Repigmentation was started on spots on legs. There was a 10-20% improvement in spots on legs. Al other spots were just the same. His feedback was studied by Dr. Shah and further medicines were prescribed. On 6th December 2006, he reported a 20-30% improvement in his Vitiligo.
All the spots of vitiligo showed a 30-40% improvement. The spread had stopped completely. His constipation was much better. He showed steady and continuous improvement in all his further follow-ups. By 6th May 2007, he had almost completely recovered from Vitiligo. The spots on the ankles were difficult and resistant to treatment, he was explained about them. Vitiligo is a chronic and obstinate skin disease which takes time to respond to homeopathic treatment. Mild and early cases of Vitiligo find significant improvement with homeopathy.
Update on 19th November 2019: On 24th January 2016, he reported almost complete recovery while he visited us along with his relative.
