Homeopathy helps treat laryngitis effectively and safely without any side-effects. Let’s have a look at the case of laryngitis.
A 38-year-old lady (PIN: 40794) came to Life Force for her treatment for laryngitis. She was suffering from the complaint for 1.5 years, and she was suffering from an episode of laryngitis every 2-3 months (lasting for 5-6 days). Her main presenting symptom was recurrent dry cough with hoarseness of the voice. Its episodes usually lasted for 5-10 minutes. She also had a sensation of a foreign body in the throat with choking sensation, particularly while drinking water. On examination, her chest was clear, and her temperature was also normal. Her complaints had turned worse after being exposed to the cold, while speaking aloud, and while drinking the water.
Also, she had an Umbilical hernia with a hard protrusion around the umbilicus which was painful during exertion and cough. She was also planning for surgery for the same.
Besides hernia, she was suffering from acidity, for which she was taking antacids. Often, she was experiencing burning in the stomach along with indigestion.
The patient was also suffering from an underactive thyroid, for which she was taking T. Eltroxin 75 mcg once daily.
A thorough case-taking was done, and her physical and mental generals were taken in detail.
She was a non-vegetarian and had an average appetite. She had craving for salty food, chicken, meat, and fruits. Her thirst was also very less, and she drank 1 liter/day. She had generalized perspiration, and, thermally, she was ambithermal. She had a regular bowel movement with no associated urinary complaints. She had a regular 28 days cycle and had headache and back pain before menses. She had three children. All her deliveries were pre-term (8 months and 32 weeks). She underwent C-section in the first delivery, and her last 2 deliveries were normal. Her sexual functions were satisfactory. She had a sound sleep, and she preferred sleeping on either side.
She was a very mild gentle lady with a caring and sharing nature. She was an extrovert and was care-free. She didn’t like to take any kind of stress. She was a very confident and independent lady. She had the fear of water. She used to get irritated with her children when they do mistakes and also got angry when someone would shout or talk against her view. She had a very happy and supportive family, and she was a lot attached to her family members. She had an average memory and would easily forget things, but she was good at perception and analysis.
When asked about her past illness, she told us that she had chickenpox during childhood. When asked about family history, she mentioned that her father had cancer, and, also, her brother was a mentally retarded person. Her aunt had an underactive thyroid and depression.
Her past medication included (15/07/2019)
T.Forenza (antibiotics) 325 mcg (1-0-1) for 7 days
T.Mondeslor (antihistamines) (0-0-1) x 7 days
T.Symbicort Turbohaler (corticosteroids) (1-1-1) for 15 days
Also, she had tried Homeopathy 1 year back for laryngitis but she didn’t get any result. Currently, she was not taking any medications.
Her blood reports were also checked which had normal findings and her chest X-Ray was also normal.
On general and systemic examination, no abnormality was detected.
Dr. Shah went through the case file in detail and, after evaluating the whole case, prescribed medicines to the patient. The patient was also advised to follow the diet chart of Vitiligo given to her.
Follow-Ups:
The first follow-up was taken on 26th September 2019. The patient told us that she experienced one episode 3-4 weeks back for which she had taken allopathic medicines for 7 days. She informed that there was no much change observed, but her relief in the frequent dry cough, that she used to get, was better than before.
The next follow-up was done in November 2019. The patient told that her relief in all her symptoms was better by almost 30%.
By February 2020, she was better by almost 70%.
By May 2020, she was better by 80%. She had no episodes of laryngitis for 4 months.
By August 2020, the patient recovered completely from the condition with no episodes of laryngitis troubling her anymore, and she stopped her treatment with complete satisfaction.
Conclusion:
This case highlights that homeopathy can give wonderful results in cases of laryngitis and can ensure a permanent solution safely without any side-effects. Homeopathy works by removing the root cause of the disease, and this holistic approach of homeopathic treatment makes it unique and different from other systems of medicines.
