A 30 years old female Mrs. H. S. (Patient Ref. No. L6530), reported to the clinic with complaints of psoriasis since 15 years. She had extensive lesions on her hands, arms, legs and on her scalp. She had been in remission twice during this period, each lasting for about 1-2 months. She had taken all kinds of treatment available but was not helped much by this. She had received steroid injections in the past and had been aggravated after stoppage of the same. She did not have any other complaints besides this.
Her appetite was average and she was fond of spicy foods and bread. Her thirst was decreased and she would take less amount of water. She would sweat profusely and would be more comfortable in the cold weather; she could not tolerate much of heat. Her sleep was sound.
She was a housewife and stayed with her in-laws in a joint family set-up. She was a mild and co-operative lady. She had much anxiety about her disease especially since it had lasted so many years and would not get better with any treatment.
There was no history of any major illness in the past. There was history of psoriasis in the family; two of her uncles had psoriasis. Her father had poliomyelitis and her brother had tuberculosis.
Based on this history she was prescribed Psorinum 200 for her complaints. After about 2 months of treatment her complaints were slightly better than before. In another 3 months, she was almost 50% better than before. She did not have any itching of the lesions. She was 6 months pregnant at this point of time. The treatment was continued for another 6 months and at the end of this, she was completely free from the disease. She had some mild hypopigmentation persisting at the area of the lesions which faded away after treatment.
Remarks: It is the beauty of Homoeopathy to consider an inseparable bond between the mind and the body and bring about cure from within the system which proves to be a permanent solution for the patient.
