Mr. V.S. came with almost continuous pain on right face, radiating to the temple. His pain reduced drastically and we could reduce his conventional medicines to one third.

A 45 years old patient Mr. V.S. (PIN Number L-9415) staying in Mumbai, reported to the clinic with complaints of Trigeminal neuralgia since the last 2 years.

He was on Tablet Carbamazepine 600 mg per day. He had remissions for a period of 6 months. His pain had increased very severely since the last 20 days, and the pains now were almost continuous, starting from the Right upper jaw and radiating to the right temple, right eye, and right cheek. The duration of pain was from 1 minute up to 5 minutes also, and it would come more than 50 times a day. The pains were aggravated by stress, draft of cold air, noise, chewing hard food and brushing teeth. The pains were of severe degree and patient was weeping while narrating his symptoms. The sensation of pain was of pulling sensation. Once the patient would get pain it was difficult to talk or continue the work for some time. His pain was almost incapacitating. He also complained of Migraine. The headaches were 3-4 times a month.

His case details were obtained.

He worked in a well reputed MNC. He was a calm and shy person. He was anxious by nature and sincere in his work. He had good relations with every one and was known for his good work in the office. He had a craving for sweets. He was sensitive to cold.

Based on this information Dr. Shah prescribed him a constitutional remedy. (Name of the medicine is withheld to avoid self medication.)

Within few weeks the pain reduced and after a month and a half, he was advised to reduce the dose of Carbamazepine. Patient had already reduced the dose, to one tablet of 200 mg per day, which was maintained. He also saw very good reduction in his migraine headaches. Even in such incapacitating pain, Homeopathy works wonders.
