Case-1: Fifty years old woman get relief from severe lower back pain
A 50 years old, lady (Pin Number L-9761) approached us for her severe low back pain.
She had complaints of low back pain since 3 years. She experienced very severe pain while walking. She experienced severe heaviness in both her lower legs on walking for some time. She could not even walk for short distances; she would get cramps and pain in her calf on walking for more than 100 feet. Then she was compelled to sit down for five minutes. She had tingling and numbness in both her legs, suggesting of compressive neuropathy. Her mobility and daily routine was significantly affected.
She also had pain in her knee joints.
Since last few weeks she felt feverish, dullness, restless and lethargic. She did not feel like going out of the house. She did not feel like talking with others. She preferred solitude.
She had developed Diabetes since last 3-4 years. She was detected as being hypertensive since the past one year. She had also developed drug induced gastritis.
Her case was taken in detail:
She was a stout lady; she would get generalized perspiration all over the body. She was sensitive to cold air and her complaints worsened in the winter.
Her sleep was disturbed. She would get up two to three times; she was passing through anxiety and had excessive thoughts, disturbing sleep.
She described herself as sentimental, irritable, anxious and worrisome.
Investigations: She was suggested scans before starting the treatment. Her MRI Lumbosacral spine report suggested Moderate degeneration and canal narrowing at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels due to disc bulges, factal arthropathy and ligamental flavum thickness. Superimposed large right postero lateral herniation with inferior migration of L5-S1 disc impinging on the right nerve root.
Based on the history and MRI findings, Dr. Shah prescribed Sepia 30. Within 8 weeks she saw dramatic improvement and she could walk long distances. Her tingling and numbness disappeared and her heaviness in legs also reduced appreciably. She discontinued pain killers in a few weeks. She continued to improve with the medicines.
