A 3 Years Old Kid With Aplastic Anemia Recovered Significantly With Homeopathy
A 3-year-old boy, Master D. (PIN 10495) reported with his parents to Life Force on 21st March 2008. They came from Pune to Mumbai.
At the age of one year and three months, he was diagnosed having aplastic anemia. His problem had started with recurrent diarrhea (loose motions), which used to be about 10 to 15 times per day every other week. He was suffering from frequent respiratory infections. He was checked for Trephine bone biopsy and bone marrow aspiration on 30th March 2007 which had shown severe Hypocellular bone marrow with severe low myeloid and erythroid series cells.
On 16th March 2007, his hemoglobin was 6.3gm, RBS 1.94, WBC 5600, and platelet count was 1,54,000 (after blood transfusion). His IgM for Parvovirus was positive, 56.7. His Vitamin B12, folic acid, and serum ferritin levels were normal. He was given a blood transfusion in April and June of 2007.
His weight was 9 kg, and he was not gaining weight. His birth weight was 2.5 kg, and he was born by Caesarian section delivery. His family history included his grandfather who suffered a brain hemorrhage and his grandmother who had a brain tumor.
On 21st March 2008, based on his case details, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed him Calcaria Phos 30, Benzene 30, and a research-based medicine for two months; and again for a month.
On 3rd June 2008, the parents of the patient reported saying that his platelet count was 125,000; stable, and Hb improved to 7.5.
His treatment was continued and some updates in the medicine were made.
He reported again on 5th August 2008. His recurrent diarrhea had almost stopped. His general condition had improved. His frequent respiratory infections had improved considerably. His appetite had improved. His weight increased to 10 kg.
Conclusion:
This case illustrates how homeopathy helps in reducing frequent infections in the case of aplastic anemia and further helps the overall management of the disease.
