Extensive psoriasis scaling lesions on the body with itching would be worse during winters and during the night time.

This is the case of Mr. S. T (Patient Ref. No. L-6731), a 27 years old male patient, who reported to the clinic with complaints of Psoriasis since 4 years. The complaints had increased since 1 month. He had extensive scaling lesions all over the body. There was intense itching which would be worse during winters and during the night time. He had taken allopathic as well as Homoeopathic treatment in the past for a long time but did not benefit much from these.

psoriasis on body

The patient was of an average built with an average appetite. He liked sweets and milk. He would sweat profusely especially on the back and on the chest. Sleep was sound with dreams of daily events that were mostly unremembered.

The patient had a friendly nature but he had become withdrawn off late. He would like to have the company of his friends but since few months he had begun to feel uncomfortable in the company of others due to his skin problems. He would not express his feelings and would not share his grief with anyone. He had the tendency to suppress his grief and would divert his mind to something else. He would frequently brood about his problems. Previously he had been very irritable and would shout at the opposite person and vent his anger but now he would suppress his anger also. The major stress in his life at that time was going through a break-off with his loved one and he had been very depressed recently on account of the same. He was very fastidious by nature and was very particular about the way he would keep his things.

He had suffered from jaundice in the past and apart from this there was no history of any other illness in the past. His father had bronchial asthma and ischemic heart disease.

Based on the above history the patient was prescribed a remedy called Sepia which was supported by another remedy called Carcinosin. Within 4 months of treatment his complaints were better by more than 90%. The rashes which were present all over his body had almost disappeared and there was no itching anymore. He did get a few new spots on the arms during the course of the treatment but these disappeared with the medicines within a short time. Overall he did very well with the treatment and that too within such a short span of time.

This case illustrates that even obstinate conditions like Psoriasis can also be effectively tackled with Homoeopathy.

Remark: The remedy prescribed in these cases is patient-specific i.e. it has been prescribed based on the symptoms specific to the patient at that point of time. It is advisable that the patient does not indulge in any self-medication.
