Urticaria had started after taking large doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the treatment of acute disc prolapse.

Dr A.M.S., M.D, 44 year old eye surgeon from Egypt had chronic urticaria which was of 5 years duration. The urticaria had started after taking large doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the treatment of acute disc prolapse.

The lesions were not responding to any forms of anti-allergic drugs (antihistamines, mast cell stabilizers, anti-prostaglandins). Temporary relief was obtained only with oral or injectable steroids.
